# Why I Am Grateful I Chose Computer Science
I am genuinely grateful that I ended up learning computer science. It is one of those subjects that keeps opening doors the more time you give it. Every time I think I have a decent handle on something, another idea shows up underneath it.
Math is part of the beauty
A big reason I respect computer science so much is that math is woven into it. Whether people like it or not, math sits behind structure, performance, graphics, networking, logic, and almost everything else. I am not going to pretend I am perfect at math, because I am not. But I do respect it, and I like that it rewards patience and honesty.
The numbers mindset
I have always liked patterns and numbers. Not in a flashy genius way, just in the sense that I like when things line up and make sense. Computer science gives that instinct somewhere to go. You can feel it when an algorithm clicks, when a bug finally makes sense, or when a system becomes clean after being messy.
Why it matters to me
It is easy to get caught up in grades, assignments, and stress, but underneath all of that is a beautiful topic. We are learning how to represent ideas, model reality, and solve problems using logic. That still feels kind of amazing to me.
Final thought
I do not think I will ever feel "done" learning this field, and honestly that is part of why I love it. There is always another layer.
